Privacy policy

This policy covers jetpointofsale.com and the JET POS product. Two different groups of people show up in it, and they are worth separating:

• You, the business. You visit this site, fill in a form, call us, or run JET in your shop.
• Your customers. They buy something from you on a JET terminal. Their data is yours. We process it on your behalf to run the product, and for nothing else.

When you contact us

Name, business name, phone number, email address and whatever you type into the message field. If you are applying for a merchant account, the application asks for the additional business and ownership details the processor requires to underwrite it.

When you browse this site

Pages viewed, approximate location from your IP address, the device and browser you are using, and which advert or search brought you here. This is analytics and advertising measurement, not identification.

When you run JET in your shop

Sales, tickets, menu, staff accounts and time records, and any customer details you or your customers enter, such as a name and phone number for a delivery order.

Card numbers

We do not store them. They go to the payment processor and we keep a token. See security for how that works.

A small number of service providers process data on our behalf so the site and the product can work. They are bound to use it only for the job we give them:

• Analytics and advertising measurement. To count visits and to tell whether an advert produced an enquiry.
• Bot protection on the forms. Which is what stops them filling with junk submissions.
• Form delivery. Anything you type into a contact or enquiry form is relayed to our inbox by a delivery service.
• Payment processing. Card data goes to the processor and comes back as a token. See security.
• Live chat. If you open the chat window, the provider running it sees what you type into it.
• Hosting. Which stores the site and the application.

If you are running a vendor assessment and need the providers named, ask and we will send you the list.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers. We will hand over data where a subpoena, a court order or a law requires it.

Cookies on this site do three jobs: keep the site working, count visits, and connect an enquiry back to the advert that produced it. There is no advertising profile being built about you here beyond that measurement.

Browser settings will block them. Blocking the analytics and advertising ones costs you nothing on this site. Blocking all of them may break the forms, because the bot check needs to run.

You can ask us to:

• Tell you what we hold about you.
• Send you a copy of it.
• Correct it if it is wrong.
• Delete it, where we are not required to keep it.
• Stop sending you marketing, which you can also do by replying to any of it.

California residents have these rights under the CCPA, and we extend the same handling to everyone rather than sorting people by state. Write to [email protected] and we will answer within thirty days. We will not charge you for asking, and we will not treat you differently for having asked.

Enquiries and form submissions: kept while we are talking, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case you come back.

Business and transaction records for active accounts: kept for as long as you are a customer, and afterwards for the period tax and payment-industry rules require.

Analytics: retained on Google’s standard schedule for the property.

When you close your account you can ask for an export and for deletion of everything we are not legally obliged to retain.

This is a product sold to businesses. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under thirteen. If you believe we have, tell us and we will delete it.

When this policy changes, the date at the top of the page changes with it. If a change materially affects how we handle your information, we will tell account holders directly rather than relying on you to re-read this page.
