A POS with no monthly fee. Two ways to get there.
Every vendor has a plan called Free, and in every one of them the fee moved somewhere else: into the rate, the hardware, or the support line. Here are the two ways JET runs without a monthly bill, with the catch written next to each.
Door one
Free POS
$0/month
The countertop terminal, the install at your counter, the menu build, the training, and every feature in the system: kitchen screens, online ordering, delivery, loyalty, the Oreon AI manager.
The catch, in full
- At least $15,000 a month in card sales.
- Cards processed through JET at 2.5% + 10¢, on a one-year agreement. That is where our money comes from.
- Online ordering switched on.
Door two
JET POS for Windows
$60, once
The register on a Windows 10 or 11 PC you already own. Download it, run your first 500 tickets free with every feature on, then pay once per PC. Updates included. No plan, no card on file, no sales call.
The catch, in full
- You bring the PC, the printer and the drawer. Standard ESC/POS printers work.
- Cards through JET, online ordering and Oreon connect through a JET account on a plan, separately. The register itself needs none of them.
- The installer is being published; the Windows page has the download the moment it is up.
Where the monthly fee hides on the other free plans
Their own published 2026 prices, on their best configuration. The monthly fee did not go away; it moved into the software line, the hardware line, or both.
| Plan | Software | Rate | Hardware |
|---|---|---|---|
| JET Free POSterminal, install and every feature included | $0 | 2.5% + 10¢ | Included |
| ToastPoint of Sale, $69 | $69.00/mo | 2.49% + 15¢ | $799, Toast terminal kit |
| SquareFree plan | $0 | 2.6% + 15¢ | $799, Square Register |
| CloverCounter Service, $59.95 | $59.95/mo | 2.3% + 10¢ | $1,799, Station Duo, bought outright |
Toast charges $25 a month for its kitchen display and $75 for online ordering on top of the software fee above; Square counts both at $0 on its free plan, its best case; Clover’s Station Duo is priced bought outright rather than leased. To see what any of it costs on your own volume and ticket, the calculator runs the sum.

Questions people ask before believing it
- Is there really no monthly fee?
- Two ways, and neither hides one. Free POS is $0 a month with the terminal included; you process cards through JET at 2.5% + 10¢ on a one-year agreement, and that is where our money comes from. JET POS for Windows is a one-time $60 licence per PC after 500 free tickets, with no plan attached at all. Everything else on our pricing page is month to month and says its price.
- What does "free" cost at Square, Toast or Clover?
- Square Free is $0 software, but the register is $799, processing is 2.6% + 15¢, and 24/7 phone support is on the paid plans. Toast has no free plan: $69 a month plus $25 per kitchen screen and $75 for online ordering, on a two-year contract. Clover Counter Service is $59.95 a month plus a $1,799 Station Duo on a three-year contract. The table on this page adds each one up over three years for the same shop.
- Is the $60 Windows licence a subscription?
- No. One payment per PC, updates included, no renewal. The first 500 tickets are free with every feature on so you can decide on your own counter. It uninstalls from Add or remove programs like anything else.
- Do I need JET card processing for the $60 licence?
- No. The register runs on its own on your PC, with cash or with payments you record from a terminal you already have. If you want cards through JET at 2.5% + 10¢, online ordering or the Oreon AI manager, those connect through a JET account on one of the plans, separately.
- What are the conditions on Free POS?
- Three, stated in full on the Free POS page: at least $15,000 a month in card sales, a one-year JET processing agreement at 2.5% + 10¢, and online ordering switched on. The terminal, the install, the menu build and the training are included. Under $15,000 a month the plan does not apply.
- I am under $15,000 a month and I need a kitchen screen. What is my option?
- Then there is a monthly fee, and we would rather say so: Professional is $47.99 a month, month to month, for up to three registers with kitchen display, online ordering and loyalty. Starter is $19.99 for one register without those. Neither has a contract or a termination fee.
- Can I start on the $60 licence and move to Free POS later?
- Yes. It is the same software. When your card volume clears the threshold and you want the terminal, the install and processing through JET, call and we set the plan up; the licence you paid for keeps working on the PC it is on.
